Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 September 2026
This policy explains how JAYDEE INNOVATION HUB (“we”, “us”), a registered business at Heshima Road, Nairobi, Kenya, collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit jaytechkenya.com or use Lexiscript. It is written to align with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
Who we are
Jaydee Innovation Hub is a Kenyan software and web development company, and the maker of Elimu SMS, RetailPulse and Lexiscript. For any privacy question, contact us at support@jaytechkenya.com or +254 792 335 470. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2019, we act as the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect
- Information you give us — when you submit a demo/enquiry form, subscribe to the blog, or message us through the on-site chat or WhatsApp, we collect the details you provide (such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, county and message).
- Usage information — with your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated information about how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type).
- Cookies — small files stored on your device. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner; essential cookies needed for the site to function may be set without consent.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, arrange demos, send the guides you subscribed to, and improve our products and this website. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal effects about you.
Cookies & analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic. Analytics runs in a consent-gated mode: until you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner, analytics storage is disabled. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies for this site, which will show the banner again.
Third parties we rely on
We use a small number of trusted processors to run this website: Google Analytics (traffic measurement), FormSubmit (delivering form and chat submissions to our email), Cloudflare (hosting, security and content delivery), ExchangeRate-API (live currency rates on our pricing pages; your browser requests the rates directly, which shares your IP address with them), and WhatsApp (if you choose to message us there). Each processes data under its own terms; we share only what is needed for these functions. Some of these providers (for example Google LLC) may process data on servers outside Kenya and the EEA; such transfers rely on the provider’s safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Lexiscript customers
If you create a Lexiscript account, we also process:
- Account data — your name, business name, email, phone number and login credentials (passwords are stored only as secure hashes).
- Scan data — the website addresses you submit, and what our scanner records when it visits them: cookies, scripts, trackers and third-party domains. The scanner visits your site as an anonymous browser; it does not collect personal data about your site’s visitors.
- Published notices and consent settings — kept as versioned records so you have an audit trail.
- Consent widget — when the widget runs on your site, it stores your visitor’s consent choice in their own browser. For that processing you are the data controller and we act as your processor.
- Payment data — payments are handled by our payment provider (for example M-PESA or a card processor). We receive confirmation of payment and a transaction reference, not your full card details.
We use this data only to provide and bill for the service, keep it secure, and support you. We keep account and scan data while your account is active and for up to 12 months after it is closed (longer only where the law requires us to keep billing records), and then delete it. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by emailing support@jaytechkenya.com.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and subscription details only as long as needed to serve you and for reasonable business records, after which they are deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.
Your rights under the Data Protection Act 2019
As a data subject you have the right to be informed of how your data is used, to access it, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request deletion, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, email support@jaytechkenya.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya.
How we protect your data
This site is served over HTTPS. Access to submitted information is limited to the people who need it to respond to you. Our own products are built with security controls such as encrypted transport, access control and audit logging.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through this site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
